Bodi Fluor(TM) 488 is the same molecule to Bodipy(R) FL (Bodipy(R) is the trademark of Invitrogen). Bodi Fluor(TM) 488 has the excitation and emission spectra similar to those of fluorescein. Compared to fluorescein, Bodi Fluor(TM) 488 is a neutral molecule, and its fluorescence is not pH-dependent. Bodi Fluor(TM) 488 gives bright green fluorescence with a sharp emission peak. Bodi Fluor(TM) 488 has been used for developing fluorescent intracellular tracers. Its conjugates are cell-permeable as long as its carriers are cell-permeable.
