Cayman's p53 Designer Transcription Factor Assay is designed to study alternate p53 DNA-binding sites. A biotinylated oligonucleotide is incubated with p53 contained in a nuclear extract, this mixture then binds to the streptavidin plate provided in the kit. p53 is detected by addition of a specific primary antibody directed against p53. A secondary antibody conjugated to HRP is added to provide a sensitive colorimetric readout at 450 nm.
