Product information "Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF), human recombinant (rHuMIF), aa1-114"
The cytokine Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) has been identified to be secreted by the pituitary gland and the monocyte/macrophage and to play an important role in endotoxic shock. MIF has the unique property of being released from macrophages and T cells in response to physiological concentrations of glucocorticoids. The secretion of MIF is tightly regulated and decreases at high, anti-inflammatory steroid concentration. Recombinant human MIF, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was cloned into an E. coli expression vector. It consists of 151 amino acids. Molecular Weight: 16.6kD (151 amino acids) Storage and Stability:, May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
