JMJD2B is histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-9' of histone H3, thereby playing a role in histone code. This protein does not demethylate histone H3 'Lys-4', H3 'Lys-27', H3 'Lys-36' nor H4 'Lys-20'. It is only able to demethylate trimethylated H3 'Lys-9', with a weaker activity than KDM4A, KDM4C and KDM4D. It is demethylation of Lys residue generates formaldehyde and succinate. Applications: Suitable for use in Dot Blot, ELISA, Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 1:1,000, Dot blot 1:500, Storage and Stability: Store product at 4°C if to be used immediately within two weeks. For long-term storage, aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable at -20°C for 12 months after receipt. Dilute required amount only prior to immediate use. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Note: Sodium azide is a potent inhibitor of peroxidase and should not be added to HRP conjugates.
