Anti-phospho-Acetyl-CoA-Carbox ylase (Ser79)

Acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC) catalyzes the pivotal step of the fatty acid synthesis pathway. The 265kD ACC-alpha is the predominant isoform in liver, adipocyte and mammary gland, while the 280kD ACC-beta is the major isoform in skeletal muscle and heart. Phosphorylation by AMPK at serine 79, or by PKA at serine 1200, inhibits the enzymatic activity of ACC. Recent research indicates that ACC is a potential target of antiobesity drugs. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Western Blot: 1:1000, incubate membrane with diluted antibody in TBS, 5% BSA, 0.1% Tween-20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight., Immunoprecipitation: 1:100, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin): 1:600, with heating in citrate buffer used as antigen retrieval., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
