Anti-TLR8 (Toll Like Receptor-8), clone 4H283

The Toll-like receptor (TLR) family in mammal comprises a family of transmembrane proteins characterized by multiple copies of leucine rich repeats in the extracellular domain and IL-1 receptor motif in the cytoplasmic domain. Like its counterparts in Drosophila, TLRs signal through adaptor molecules (1). The TRL family is a phylogenetically conserved mediator of innate immunity that is essential for microbial recognition (2). Ten human homologs of TLRs (TLR1-10) have been described (3). TLR8 gene contains three exons, two of which have coding function (4). TLR8 cDNA codes for a protein of approximate molecular weight of 120kD (4,5). Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry and Western Blot. Other applications have not been tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1-3ug/ml. Cell lysate from 293 transfected with human TLR8 was used as positive control. A protein of~20kD was detected., Flow Cytometry: 2-5ug/1x10e6 cells. Ramos cells can be used as a positive control., Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, aliquot and add glycerol (40-50%). Freeze at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
