Anti-Interferon beta (IFN-beta, IFNb, IFB, IFF, IFNB1, Fibroblast Interferon, MGC96956)

Interferons (IFNs) are proteins made and released by lymphocytes in response to the presence of pathogens-such as viruses, bacteria, or parasites-or tumor cells. They allow communication between cells to trigger the protective defenses of the immune system that eradicate pathogens or tumors. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Biological Activity: In an antiviral assay for interferon about 1unit/ml of interferon is the quantity necessary to produce a cytopathic effect of 50%, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
