Anti-COX-2 (Cyclooxygenase-2, PGHS 2, Prostaglandin Endoperoxide Synthase-2, PHS 2), clone 4E+52

Cyclooxygenases-1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2) also known as Prostaglandin endoperoxide H synthases-1 and 2 are integral membrane proteins which catalyze the first step of Prostaglandin, Thromboxane, and Procastacyclin production from Arachidonic acid. The COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes are important pharmacologically as targets of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) including aspirin, ibuprofen and the COX-2 inhibitors. Inhibition of Cyclooxygenases with NSAIDs acutely reduces inflammation, pain, and fever. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
