The Androgen Receptor (Androgen R) is a 90kD steroid hormone receptor that is critical for the development and function of the male reproductive system. Androgen R binding to testosterone or 5a-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) triggers receptor dimerization followed by translocation to the nucleus where it promotes the transcription of androgen-responsive genes. Multiple polymorphisms in Androgen R are linked to the development of prostate cancer. The ligand-binding domain of human Androgen R (aa661-920) shares aa100% sequence identity with mouse and rat Androgen R. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Flow Cytometry: 10ul/10e6 with LNCaP human prostate cancer cell line, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Hybridoma: Myeloma cells with B cells from Balb/c mice. Absorption: 620-650nm , Emission: 660-670nm, Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C in the dark. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4°C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. Caution: APC conjugates are sensitive to light.
