Amyloid monomeric proteins can sometimes oligomerize into destructive amyloid fibrils.... more
Product information "Anti-Amyloid Oligomers (A11, Amyloid Oligomer AlphaBeta)"
Amyloid monomeric proteins can sometimes oligomerize into destructive amyloid fibrils. Amyloidogenic conformations of non-disease related proteins can be created by partial protein misfolding or denaturation. Many degenerative diseases are known to be related to the accumulation of misfolded proteins as amyloid fibres (1, 2). These include the amyloid-b peptide plaques and tau neurofibrillary tangles in senile plaques of Alzheimer's symptomology, the deposition of a-synuclein in the Lewy bodies of Parkinson's disease, and accumulation of polyglutamine-containing aggregates in Huntington's disease (2, 3). Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Western Blot, Dot Blot, Immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-10ug/ml, Western Blot: 1:1000, Dot Blot: 0.1-10ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry: 1:1000-1:10,000 , Immunoprecipitation: 1:1000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
