|What is an experiment without controls good for?
Comprehensive controlling is a prerequisite for compelling experimental results with strong evidence. Cell lysates may serve as positive control of western blotting experiments. NanoTools offers a wide selection of cell lysates for different purposes:
Treatment of Cells
EGF-treated cell lysates
Forskolin treated cell lysates
IGF-1 treated cell lysates
IL-4 treated cell lysates
Insulin treated cell lysates
LiCl treated cell lysates
Pervanadate treated cell lysates
PMA treated cell lysates
Sorbit treated cell lysates
Untreated cell lysates
Generally these cell lysates are lyophilized and are reconstituted by addition of 200 µL water. After complete solubilization you add 200 µl 2x SDS-PAGE sample buffer, mix and incubate at 90 °C for 5 min. Generally the use of 20 µL for a western blot with chemilumiescent detection is recommended. The lyophilized cell lysates contain SDS and are not recommended for applications with native proteins such as immunoprecipitation.
