ExGen 500 is a linear polyethylenimine transfection reagent for transfection of eukaryotic cells even in the presence of serum and antibiotics.
Simple and fast protocol without time consuming medium changes
High transfection efficacy and broad range of applications
Free of animal components and suitable for protein and virus production
Performance proven in many publications
Exgen 500 is suitable for the transfection of a wide number of cell types with high efficiency and low toxicity. Transfection can be performed in the presence or absence of serum. Exgen 500 consists of linear polyethylenimine (PEI) molecules. These molecules share a high cationic-charge density potential and are, therefore, very good gene-delivering agents. Every third atom of ExGen 500 is a protonable amino nitrogen atom, which makes the polymeric association be an effective "proton sponge." This property allows for endosome buffering and protects DNA from lysosomal degradation.
