Cell Navigator™ are cell staining kits. A complete set of tools for selective labeling subcellular structures of live, fixed and dead cells.


AAT Bioquests Cell Navigator™ fluorescence imaging kits are a set of fluorescence imaging tools for labeling sub-cellular organelles such as membranes, lysosomes, mitochondria and nuclei etc. The selective labeling of live cell compartments provides a powerful method for studying cellular events in a spatial and temporal context.

 

F-Actin

Used at nanomolar concentrations, phallotoxins are convenient probes for labeling, identifying and quantitating F-actins in formaldehyde-fixed and permeabilized tissue sections, cell cultures or cell-free experiments. The labeling protocol is robust, requiring minimal hands-on time. The kits provide all the essential components with an optimized staining protocol.

 

Blue Fluorescence

ABD-22660 Cell Navigator(TM) F-Actin Labeling Kit *Blue Fluorescence*
This kit is designed to label F-actins of fixed cells in blue fluorescence. The kit uses a blue fluorescent phalloidin conjugate that is selectively bound to F-actins. This blue fluorescent phalloidin conjugate is a high-affinity probe for F-actins.

 

Green Fluorescence

ABD-22661 Cell Navigator(TM) F-Actin Labeling Kit *Green Fluorescence*
This kit is designed to label F-actins of fixed cells in green fluorescence. The kit uses a green fluorescent phalloidin conjugate that is selectively bound to F-actins. This green fluorescent phalloidin conjugate is a high-affinity probe for F-actins with much higher photostability than the fluorescein-phalloidin conjugates.

 

Red Fluorescence

ABD-22663 Cell Navigator(TM) F-Actin Labeling Kit *Red Fluorescence*
This kit is designed to label F-actins of fixed cells in red fluorescence. The kit uses a red fluorescent phalloidin conjugate that is selectively bound to F-actins. This red fluorescent phalloidin conjugate is a high-affinity probe for F-actins.

 

Lysosomes

These kits use a proprietary lysotropic dye that selectively accumulates in lysosomes probably vial the lysosome pH gradient. The lysotropic indicator is a hydrophobic compound that easily permeates intact live cells, and trapped in lysosomes after it gets into cells. Its fluorescence is significantly enhanced upon entering lysosomes. This key feature significantly increases its selectivity for lysosomes. The labeling protocol is robust, requiring minimal hands-on time. It can be readily adapted for a wide variety of fluorescence platforms such as microplate assays, immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. It is useful for a variety of studies, including cell adhesion, chemotaxis, multidrug resistance, cell viability, apoptosis and cytotoxicity. The kits provide all the essential components with an optimized cell-labeling protocol. They are suitable for proliferating and non-proliferating cells, and can be used for both suspension and adherent cells.

This fluorescent mitochondrial indicator is retained in mitochondria for long time since the indicator carries a cell-retaining group. This particular kit is designed to label mitochondria of live cells in red fluorescence. This mitochondrial dye demonstrates a large Stokes shift. It can be effectively excited by the 488 nm Argon laser, emits red fluorescence light around an emission maximum at 650 nm. This key feature makes this kit an ideal imaging tool for multiplexing fluorescence assays with a green color (such as FITC or GFP) by using a single excitation. It can be effectively used to label live cells for flow cytometry-based multiplexing applications.
