IntroductionThe AP-Red Solution Set IHC is a chromogen used in immunohistochemical applications. The AP-Red Solution Set IHC is supplied as two liquid components, the buffer and the chromogen solution, which are mixed together before use. In the presence of alkaline phophatase (AP) AP-Red Solution deposits a bright fuchsin-red precipitate. AP-Red shows an excellent contrast with green horseradish peroxidase substrates. The reaction product is insoluble in alcohols and xylene and, therefore, a variety of counterstains and permanent mounting media can be used with AP-Red.
