IL-32a is the shortest and most abundant of four potential splice variants of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-32 (previously called NK4) with a predicted unmodified size of 15kD. Potential modifications include myristoylation and N-glycosylation. Transfected IL-32a was more likely to be cell-associated as compared to IL-32b, suggesting an intracellular function. IL-32 is induced by mitogens in peripheral lymphocytes, by IFN-g in epithelial cells, or by IL-12 with IL-18 in NK cells and in turn Induces cytokine expression. No ortholog has been found in mouse. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot, Immunohistochemistry and Immunocytochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 2ug/ml, Immunohistochemistry: 8-25ug/ml, Immunocytochemistry: 8-25ug/ml, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
