G9A/EHMT2 is a histone H3-Lys-9 methyltransferase. G9A/EHMT2 has been shown to function as a corepressor by associating with transcriptional regulators such as CDP/cut, Blimp-1/PRDI-BF1, and REST/NRSF. G9A/EHMT2 has also been shown to function as a coactivator for a large family of nuclear receptors. Alternate names for G9A/EHMTs include histone-lysine N-methyltransferase H3 lysine-9 specific 3, histone H3-K9 methyltransferase 3, H3-K9-HMTase3, euchromatic histone-lysine N-methyltransferase 2, HLA-B-associated transcript 8, G9a, BAT8, C6orf30, NG36, FLJ35547, and DKFZp686H08213.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide. The epitope recognized by A300-933A maps to a region between residue 1160 and the C-terminus (residue 1210) of human G9A (Euchromatic Histone-Lysine N-methyltransferase 2) using the numbering given in entry NP_006700.2 (GeneID 10919).
