Product information "Anti-Estrogen Receptor alpha (ERa)"
Estrogen receptor (ER) has two distinct isoforms, alpha and beta. ER, the steroid receptor, belongs to a large superfamily of ligand-dependent intracellular proteins that stimulate transcription of specific genes by binding to specific DNA sequences following activation by the appropriate hormone. The estrogen receptor is a ligand-activated transcription factor composed of several domains important for hormone binding, DNA binding, and activation of transcription. Alternative splicing results in several ESR1 mRNA transcripts, which differ primarily in their 5-prime untranslated regions. The translated receptors show less variability. , Applications: , Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 1:2000, Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
